Meet the Publisher

Rachel McEachern

Publisher, Uniquely You Connecticut

My passion for the disability community began while volunteering in my mother's special education classroom at ACES. As I spent time in her classroom volunteering and completing observation hours for my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Psychology, I discovered that I wanted to dedicate my career to working with individuals with disabilities. I later continued my education by pursuing coursework in Occupational Therapy, further expanding my understanding of individualized support. Those experiences shaped the path I've followed ever since.


For more than 15 years, I've dedicated my career to supporting, teaching, advocating, and leading a variety of programs for individuals with disabilities and their families. Throughout my career, I've also had the opportunity to create new programs that foster connection, inclusion, and personal growth.


My passion for this community is both professional and deeply personal. Life has given me challenges that have strengthened my empathy and reinforced my belief that every person deserves to feel understood, valued, and included.


Outside of work, I'm happiest spending time with my husband, our five-year-old son, and the family and friends who mean the world to me. I'm a creative person at heart and enjoy cooking, gardening, live music, finding new purpose for old treasures, and everything that comes with the fall season.


I believe everyone has something valuable to contribute, and I hope to leave every person and every community a little better than I found it.
